The Diamond Ball Thank you to everyone who helped make the 13th Annual Canadian Cancer Society Diamond Ball "Palace of the Tsars" such a tremendous success! The Canadian Cancer Society BC and Yukon Division is proud to announce that almost $500,000 dollars was raised at the 13th Annual Canadian Cancer Society Diamond Ball, which took place at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver on April 18, 2009. This tremendous achievement is the direct result of the dedication and enormous generosity of our many guests, sponsors, donors, and volunteers. CCS BC and Yukon Division CEO Barbara Kaminsky, along with Diamond Ball Chairs Alexa Ulinder and Greg Zayadi, and Advisory Chairs Michael & Carlyn Sikich extend a sincere thank you to all of the individuals and corporations who helped raise these vital funds. Funds raised through the Diamond Ball help the Canadian Cancer Society work towards its mission to eradicate cancer and enhance the quality of life for people living with cancer by implementing cancer prevention strategies, advocating for healthy public policies, funding cancer research, providing information on all types of cancer and providing support programs for patients and their families. The Canadian Cancer Society is a trusted source of information and advocates on behalf of Canadians to try to influence decision-makers at all levels of government to create healthier environments where people work, live, and play.
